“What began as a nobby-kneed, petty, disjointed group of pre-teens is now a tightly-interwoven team of mature adults with a deep commitment to one another and to this “stupid-hard” job they are tasked with. Growing with these characters over the series in such an organic fashion makes The Gateway Chronicles impossibly real to me and other readers, which makes the finality of this final release of the series such a painful thing. I, like Darcy, must learn how to say goodbye.”Read More
“Never before have the stakes been so high, the consequences so great should they fail, and though there is tremendous momentum with the plot in this novel, it is truly impossible to predict the path she may take to the very end.” We’re almost to the end, and goodness knows if we’ll survive it.Read More
The Enchanted seems to me a magical book, even more so than its predecessors, with relationships being the cornerstone on which Hoyle builds her stage. Her edits and update or added scenes serve one purpose and one purpose only: to make what I thought was a perfect book somehow even better, and I am thrilled to read on.Read More
The White Thread is a work of art, hitting upon the heart of the series, parts of the prophecy, answering former riddles and creating ten more questions in their wake. It's a puzzle within a puzzle, more light-hearted while also having two of the darkest scenes in the series to date and briefly introducing a new and terrifying villain. The relationships between characters deepen and, best of all, a romance you didn't even know you needed plants itself in both the characters' and audience's hearts until you're left ready to perish at the end for anticipation of The Enchanted. Alitheia is no longer a trip, it is a reality. Are you ready to dive in?Read More
Bold, enriched, nuanced. K.B. Hoyle's second installment in The Gateway Chronicles expands upon her world, characters, and lore in increasingly unpredictable, challenging ways while staying true to the age range and desires of the cast. With multi-faceted antagonists, nuanced characters and conflicts, and deepening magical lore, The Oracle takes the foundations given us by The Six and builds a wild world upon it.Read More
Nearly ten years ago, K.B. Hoyle released the first of her Gateway Chronicles to the world, and I immediately fell in love. Through three different rounds of releases, covers, edits, I've had the pleasure of watching Hoyle's writing mature and her story expand into a vast and beautiful entity. What a pleasure it's been, being a part of the latest (and best) release of this series complete with new and vibrant covers, smoothed-out sections, and brand new material readers have never had access to before! Now, more than ever, the series feels well and truly complete.Read More
Caraval was full of surprise, hints of magic, romance, dark mystery, and anything else one could possibly long for in a story. With unique characters, a deeply complex and twisting plot, excellent pacing, and beautiful setting, her world is impossible to forget. Curious? Read more to find out.Read More
"The Book Jumper has a fascinating idea at its core—the idea that all literary worlds run on the same plane, exist in the same universe, and that they run like clockwork. Each day, the story starts fresh with characters who are not only self-aware as regards their roles and abilities in the world, but have the autonomy to make different choices that might fundamentally alter the story in every copy in the world, based off that master copy on Stormsay. Glaser somehow manages to convey characters' unique worlds and characters, yet add a new voice and viewpoint as well."

Review of S. Jae-Jones young adult romantic fantasy, Wintersong. This was not my favorite. There was lots of meh with a brief scattering of brilliance; but read the full review to see the extent of my thoughts.

"When you read Gemma Doyle's story, you are reading by the light of a candle, surrounded by dark wood and rich tapestry, while wrapped gently in a lace-edged dressing gown. Your heart will soar and stutter, your hands will shake. You will have to muffle the sounds of your delight and horror in turn, and you will never forget these books." 10/10 MagpiesRead More
